Start here: how the Beta Lab works
The Beta Lab is where unreleased builds go before they are ever sold.
Why it exists. I cannot test an Expert Advisor properly on my own. I have one broker,
one server time zone, one set of spreads and one machine. An EA that works perfectly here
can be quietly broken on your broker because the symbol has a different contract size or
the server clock is two hours off. The only way to find that out is to put the build in the
hands of people on other brokers.
What you get. The build, free, before anyone can buy it. A key that works for the whole
test period. A direct line to me — I answer beta reports myself. A discount on the finished
product when it ships. And if you want it, your name in the release notes.
What I ask for. One honest report. That is the whole price. "It ran for three weeks on
an Exness demo, took eleven trades, nothing broke" is a complete and useful report. So is
"I could not get it to install" — that one tells me my instructions are wrong, which is
worth more than most bug reports.
The rules, which are not negotiable.
- Beta software is unfinished. Run it on a demo account.
- If you run it on real money anyway, that is your decision and your loss. I will not cover
it and there is no warranty on a test build. I would rather say that plainly than bury it.
- Do not share the build or your key. Both are tied to your account and both can be switched
off from here.
- Testers who take the build and never report lose their place to someone who will.
How to start: go to the Beta Lab page, pick a programme, tick the two boxes, and your key
appears on screen. The install guide is written for someone who has never attached an EA to
a chart.
Questions about any of that go in this thread.
